A continuation of old things.
After all, they couldn't let people know that the actual Lord of Spirits and Overlord of Hades were actually among humans. Humanity would simply not be ready for that. But... that didn't stop them from being here, nor would it. Helping to save the Human World was what they were both seeking to do, both for their own reasons. They had colluded in the past, and were comrades even before this particular incident, even if the Spirit World and the Netherworld were not always themselves under the greatest cooperation.
...But they had both found themselves taken with humans since they got here, even if Valvatorez found some of their excesses deplorable. But that never changed his goal: that the humans, the Netherworld, and the Spirit World were worth protecting and fighting for. But... admittedly, being here and spending time with Milla... he had to admit, it was fun. And their date especially... he couldn't remember the last time he had such fun.
So, today, on a more quiet day when there was minimal traffic near Minato's apartment, he finally got a chance to speak to her, though, he had something behind his back, hidden beneath his cape. He figured it'd be pretty well hidden there.]
Milla! There you are. Might I have a moment to speak with you?
awwwyeah.
[Milla had spent the day lamenting Minato's refusal to take her to his school and show her around whilst it was in session. His words, mumbled, had been something along the lines of her causing a stir that even he couldn't claw back, not that she'd paid much attention beyond the immediate 'no'.
But she had respect his wishes... this time, and somewhat. It wasn't like she followed the instruction to stay in his room, or the apartment. Instead, she had spent the day familiarising herself with the area, mostly be following Koromaru - the dog made an excellent tour guide, even when he wasn't intending to be. And so the refusal to take her to school had been forgotten, at least for the day, what with strange contraptions known as jungle gyms to conquer.
Right now, she was on her way back to pester someone into buying her more snacks, since the Lord of Spirits and Overlord of Hades Stash had long since run dry... until Valvatorez calls out to her, that is.
She turns, hand on her hip.] I have several moments for you, Valvatorez. [But she raises an eyebrow, because this is unusual, and why is he fussing with his cape?] Ah, I mean, "what's up, bro?". [She's speaking the lingo. Look at her go.]

Still keeping an arm behind his back, he gestured boldly with his other hand.]
Everything is off the hook, far out... and... [Another bold gesture] as cold as ice!
[Smooth. Nailed it. He walked closer to her and tried to look as natural as possible. If he could be more quiet, he might be able to avoid having to conceal his language.]
2/2
Yes, well. I wanted to...
[He hesitated for a brief instant, feeling his mental process trip over itself. That's... embarrassing. He cleared his throat and straightened up his back a bit before continuing.]
...Wanted to talk to you about something. Our experiment a few weeks ago, namely. I know that we both found it... fascinating, if strange. [Where did he go from here?... Dammit. A little color may have flushed into his face, which... was unusual for the normally extremely pale vampire.] Though we caused no end of trouble for our host, I personally believed the endeavor was very worthwhile.
So, I...
[And he tripped again over his words, intensifying the embarrassing blush on his face. Dammit, this wasn't how it was supposed to go, he was a Tyrant, for pity's sake.
Forget it, it was time to be decisive! Now or never or he'd look stupid!
He pulled out his hand from behind his cape, presenting her with a gift of deep red flowers. Because clearly that was normal for humans in courtship rituals, and he had to follow suit for this to work!]
...Would you be interested in a second date?
1/2
Speaking of silly is the way her counterpart is acting. In all her time of his acquantaience, never has she known him to be so... nervous. She looks at him incredously. Valvatorez? Nervous? And is that a flush in his cheeks? If his body temperature is rising, then he must be sick. That would explain his behaviour.
Still, could demons even catch a cold? Was his "cold as ice" statement meant to clue her in all along?
She respects him enough to debate keeping quiet and to let him finish without interruption, but he really should be taking better care of himself.]

..... oh.
So that's what all that talk about their date was about. Surely, he could have just asked without getting flustered! And why was she getting flustered in response? The flowers are just a courtship ritual! A declaration of furthered interest! Which should be a fascinating continuation of the game they had been playing, not... whatever was flying about in the pit of her stomach, and it wasn't the sensation of hunger, even if she felt nauseous. Was this what humans meant by butterflies?
She knows what to say, read the book twice to be sure she had her dating repertoire down, that hearty acceptance with a dash of fluster was the way to go, but not like this. Not genuine! She can't even formulate the words.
Her cheeks were only getting redder, and she is entirely without a response.
All of it leads to perhaps the most eloquent sentence Milla had ever uttered.]
I, uh.

If ever there was a time the Tyrant Overlord looked anything resembling meek, it was this very brief instant.
There was nothing in that book about this kind of reaction.... for either of them.]
...Is that a "No?"
no subject
What? No! It's not a no, I was trying to come to terms with- I mean- I haven't- I'm not saying no...
[She trails off, frowning in frustration at herself.]
This is all very sudden. I seem to be confused. And not... really sure what to say...
[She's dithering, because even though it's not a no, this is uncharted territory for the both of them and it seems a little more... something... than a dating competition if she says yes.]
no subject
Frustration. Though frustration at himself, for thinking that this would be simple. That he knew how to deal with, but it still did nothing to hide the blushing on his face that was still present... and still smoldering enough to feel somewhat painful.
He stole a glance away for a moment.]
...I am not sure what to say either. However... I thought it might be enjoyable to spend more time out with you, I suppose.
[Though they had spent time together while waiting for and fighting inside Tartarus to help stop it and the worse things coming, it wasn't quite the same. They were cooped up mostly, and how much they could do was often fairly limited.
His red eyes turned back to hers.]
There is still much we haven't seen here. And I can think of no better way to experience it than in good company.

At the same time, she's cemented in place, because it's not like she could avoid him (Minato's friends were very insistent when it came to keeping the Overlord and Lord in the same place) - and nor would she want to, if... whatever this was... was any indication.
He's looking at her, waiting an answer. She has to hurry up and think through this, but there's no clear answer for her to set her sights on... but perhaps that's just it. There doesn't need to be. It's as he says - spending more time together, experiencing in company she has never objected towards...
Enjoyable...
It would certainly be that, wherever they went from here.]
Well, then. [She smiles a fraction, meeting his glance without much leftover embarrassment because once a Milla reaches a conclusion, there's nothing to be abashed over.] When put that way, perhaps this is something we should take the time to explore, the two of us together. I would not be adverse to it, and...
[To the point, Milla!]
I would be very interested in a second date with you, Valvatorez. And I accept. The flowers are quite beautiful.
[She steps forward to smell them, rich and flavourful, placing her hands over his that are holding the bouquet. And not really thinking about that action, too lost in reminiscing about the meadows and fields of the spirit world.]
