So, I might be canonblind to Persona 5, but from what I know about Haru, I feel like she and Athrun would be interesting to play off each other. They both have issues with their fathers putting their personal goals over the well-being of their kids, and they both come from wealthy families. The main difference is that Athrun is used to everyday society outside the bubble of upper-class lifestyles and leans toward the cynical.

As for PSL ideas, I have a fair few generic ones, like arranged marriage or Pokémon AU. I could even AU Athrun into the Persona world.

Whatever we do, I would like to avoid an arranged marriage between them - in canon, she's already in an arranged marriage, and it's essential to her character arc, and also why she joins the phantom thieves. Her father is essentially selling her off to her fiancee for his political career - the fiancee and Haru's marriage is his step into politics - and they have to change her father's heart before that happens. It's not good, but it's what spurs her to no longer be subservient to him and awakens her persona.

However, I could potentially try a Pokémon AU with her! It would be fun to have Haru part of a food conglomerate (we can just assume Big Bang Burger and Okumura Foods exists in the Pokémon universe, and we can probably run similar to canon). I'm not sure where we could go with it, though.

Sure, I'm OK with not doing an arranged marriage. Perhaps they meet when they both decide they've had enough of their fathers' control and escape to a different region? Or perhaps they've already escaped but lost their fathers in the process, and travel somewhere else to recover? I've been entertaining the idea of having Athrun abscond to Alola with his inheritance after outing his father as a member of Team Galactic/Plasma/Flare and helping Looker arrest him. And then they can end up taking the Island Challenge as they do some soul-searching and coming to terms with their lots in life.
